Acne troubles all of us at one point or the other in life. We eagerly wait for that ugly eruption to go away as soon as possible. Despite all our efforts it is difficult to predict what age does acne have. The life cycle of acne entirely depends on an individual’s healing capacity and the form of acne that the person has.

Facial acne occurs in mild, moderate, and severe forms. Whiteheads and blackheads are mild form of acne. These are generally not visible with naked eyes but serve as foundation for severe acne like cysts and nodules. If a person is suffering from whiteheads and blackheads then he or she should keep the skin perfectly clean. Washing with benzoyl peroxide or scrubbing the face is a good way to remove whiteheads. If a proper cleanliness regime is followed then the heads disappear within a couple of days. Ironically whiteheads and blackheads are something that needs regular maintenance. For people who have a skin prone to clogging a regular cleanliness is must.

The life cycle of the moderate and severe form of acne like nodules, papules, cysts, is generally long. The more severe it grows the more time it takes to subside. What age does acne have is nothing specific. However we can have a general idea by looking at the life cycle of typical acne:

  1. First stage: The first stage of acne is blocked skin pores. When sebum clogs the pores of the skin, dead cells get trapped inside the pores. The oil and dead cells together results in plugs that are commonly called whiteheads.

  1. Second stage: In this stage the P acne bacteria that is naturally present in the skin starts multiplying. As a natural reaction the body sends white blood cells to fight the bacteria and gets trapped there.

  1. Third stage: In the third and the final stage acne takes the most severe form. As the body fights with the bacteria it results in cysts, nodules, inflammation, and painful pus formations.

It is not necessary that in every case acne will complete the whole life cycle. If the skin is not very oily and proper cleanliness is maintained the acne is limited only to whiteheads and blackheads. However if the skin is not able to handle the growth of sebum then acne keeps on growing and recurring.

One important thing to remember is that acne leads to acne. By squeezing acne and spreading the bacteria trapped inside it we give chance for the infection to grow. By not maintaining proper hygiene and touching the acne with open hands we increase the life of acne. Acne that has reached its final stage and has grown into a cyst or nodule takes at least week to subside. It leaves behind scar that is deep and needs immediate care.

A new invention in acne treatment is herbal medicines like Acnezine. They do not have any side effects and act on past, present, and future acne. It works on scars, cures acne eruptions, and prevents future growth of acne.

What age does acne has is not fixed because it differs from individual to individual. The most important thing to note is that life and growth of acne can be checked by proper medication and a few preventions.
